How to say it in Hebrew
Tip #19

I am often asked ...

I am often asked - how do I say "next time" in Hebrew? ;)
"Next" in Hebrew
Let's say you are at a bus stop, and the bus is nowhere to be seen. Then you turn to the person sitting\standing next to you and ask... (*see the comment below!) ...and ask: "When is the next bus?" Which sounds like:
מתי האוטובוס הבא?

Did you notice? Literally, saying "next" in Hebrew we say "the coming"! And it's not only about buses. :)
Next month - חודש הבא
Next question - שאלה הבאה

(!) Mark the difference between the masculine (BA) and the feminine (BAA) form of "next\coming"!
(!)(!) It's always "the next", never just "next"!

*small talk with strangers is a very normal thing in Israel, it's even more than normal - it's a social standard! if you don't you'd, probably, be considered rude! ;)
"Time" in Hebrew
Remember tip#17? We had two ways to say "time," remember? It's not always "זמן", often we use "פעם" for saying "time"! And this time (הפעם) as well!

So, "see you next time" would sound like... נתראה בפעם הבאה!

Wait, did you notice? In English we say "see you __ next time," and in Hebrew...? "See you in next time"! Whereas saying it this way in English is wrong, In Hebrew it's perfectly normal and in most cases even better!
Well, this is it for today,
I hope that next time (בפעם הבאה) you'll receive the newsletter on time (בזמן)!

Happy Hebrew-learning!
