HOW DO WE LEARN?
Let's make the best of this online learning!
Our mission as a language school is to use to the fullest the opportunities and the freedom that online learning provides, and make it accessible and easy for any learner with any background.

So - how do we do it?
The main principle of The Hebrew Hub is immersive learning.
Unlike some other language courses, that are lesson-centered, The Hebrew Hub makes its' learning happen 24/7 - which is crucial in a situation when students come from all over the world – and hence, live in different time zones! We do have Zoom lessons, but they are just another component, often optional.
The main learning happens before the lesson takes place.

-
How is it possible?

Here's how -
we have chat groups for each course (like Whatsapp, but with better stickers! ;) ) and that's where the magic happens!

The course materials (perfectly suited for online environment, opening easily on your desktop as well as on your mobile) are divided in daily portions and posted daily in the group. It includes dynamic hands-on assignments, such as requests to post your sentences in the chat or record yourself saying something.
Your answers are monitored and corrected by me and the course teacher.
Needless to say that the chat is also good for staying in touch - you can ask us any question and it's fun to see that you are not alone, that you are working towards common goal with a group of like-minded learners!

And that's not all!

In addition, all the learning content is gathered neatly as an on-line course that you can access any time (during the course or later – you get lifelong access to all the materials).

Then, there come the Zoom lessons – to crown your learning efforts during the week and to use what you've learned in real time.

Some courses have Zoom lessons and some don't. See more about it below -

Courses with group lessons (Zoom)
There are two types of courses
that have group Zoom lessons:
  • Main grammar courses
Purpose of the Zoom meeting: grammar review and practice, Q&A.
  • Speaking courses
Purpose of the Zoom meeting: speaking practice!
(In between Zoom sessions - new vocabulary, expressions, culture)

Courses without group lessons
The two types of courses
that do not have group Zoom lessons
  • Specific grammar courses
Courses that are practicing a specific grammatical aspect of the language (such as Verb Karaoke that is practicing conjugation or the prepositions course) don't take a dedicated speaking practice. However, once a year we launch them with a chat group - for additional practice, accountability, staying in touch and questions!
  • Self-study courses
By definition self-study, i.e. materials you learn on your own, does not include a group element. You'll notice though that some courses in your self-study collection will be marked as "learning now" - so you'll know that there is a group working on these materials right now! ;)
